ELISA HELLAND-HANSEN

Elisa Helland-Hansen (b. 1950 in NYC) is educated at the National College of Art and Design in Bergen medio 1970s. She works full time at her studio at Seimsfoss near Rosendal and exhibits regularly both in Norway and abroad. She was head of the Ceramic Department as professor at HDK, Gothenburg University from 2000 to 2005. Her work is represented at several public and private collections. Elisa Helland-Hansen has devoted her whole career to making work meant for daily use in the kitchen for serving and storing food and liquids. She investigates the close relationship between utility and form, details like lips, volume, and distribution of weight. The interaction between tactile surfaces and the sheen and colour ranges of glazes is also a significant feature of her work.

 ALI GALLEFOSS

Ali Shah Gallefoss (b. 1989, Oslo) is from Bergen and completed a bachelor’s degree in Furniture and Spatial Design at Bergen Academy of Fine Art and Design in 2018. He currently lives in Oslo, studying for a master’s degree at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. In 2019, Gallefoss created a sculpture from surplus scarves and cut-offs from the stone industry for the Norwegian clothing brand Holzweiler, that later was installed at Dover Street Market in Beijing. In 2020, he was selected to exhibit as part of Norwegian Presence 2020 at Salon Satelite in Milan. The same year he also won Bo Bedre’s design award as Newcomer of the year. He is currently exhibiting at Sorgenfri and Kollekted By, in addition to drawing Holzweiler’s new store in his hometown Bergen, together with Snøhetta.

VILDE HAGELUND

Vilde Hagelund (b. 1992), an Oslo based furniture designer with degrees in both multimedia technology and product design, has finally found her true passion within the field of furniture design. She strongly believes that material, form, and function should be equally valued throughout a design process. Combining a crafters hand, an artist’s eye and a designers’ mind triggers the creativity and the need to create long-lasting, quality products.
