Ingjerd Hanevold

Smykker naturligvis

10 March - 30 April 2022

The exhibition shows Hanevold's exploration of nature's world of intricate forms, constructions and various symbolic meanings. But after the jewelry has left the workshop, it acquires a practical, emotional and social significance. A history.

We are invited to experience connections between sources of inspiration, unique jewelry and wearers' stories. A number of brave women who have chosen jewelry from Ingjerd, have been encouraged to write about their thoughts and experiences. Stories are told about how jewelry makes them feel valued, strong, sensual, clear, free and rebellious. Memories and important life events are associated with their jewelry.

Her starting point is that jewelry belongs to our wordless language; the visual expression, as an extension of emotions and gestures. Jewelry reflects nature within us and around us.  They become a part of the story of who we are.

Ingjerd Hanevold (1955, Asker) is a graduate of the Oslo Academy of the Arts and further in New York.
